How to become a SLEP Member

Dear friends of SLEP,

SLEP invites all health professionals (physician, biochemist, biologist, etc.) who have demonstrated active work and continue to be active in the field of Paediatric Endocrinology in broad terms, including Diabetes and Metabolism, interested in the area of Paediatric Endocrinology to join.

The Membership Committee (members@www.slep-endocrino.com), will evaluate the applicant's qualifications and report back within three periods during the year. The final acceptance takes place during the Annual Members' Meeting.

Active Members (modified in 2020)

To become a member, the applicant must submit an application for membership, supported by a letter of recommendation from and the applicant must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • hold a specialist degree (board certification) in Pediatric Endocrinology, Endocrinology or Endocrine Biochemistry, and if there is no specialist degree, need to prove experience in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology/Endocrinology/ Endocrine Biochemistry;

  • hold a doctorate or master's degree or equivalent in areas related to Pediatric Endocrinology;

  • have published at least one paper related to Pediatric Endocrinology in an international peer-reviewed indexed journal as main author or co-author.

Training Members

To join the Society as a Training Member the applicant must comply with the following requirements:

  • Send the application for admission, supported by a letter of recommendation from an Active Member of the Society.

  • Accredit their status as "professionals in training", for example, by attaching a certificate issued by the head of the service where they are studying the residency or the director of the postgraduate course or the supervisor of the doctoral or master's work together with a complete CV.

  • A minimum of one year in training will be required, prior to entering the society

  • Members in Training:

    1. They will have the right to speak but not to vote in the Assemblies of the Society.
    2. They will have access to the benefits for Members set by the governing bodies, for example: registration at a reduced price in the congresses or courses of the Society, access to journals and scientific activities.
    3. They will not pay ordinary or extraordinary fees for a maximum period of 5 years. Once this period has elapsed, they must apply for Active Partner.
    4. They may not hold positions on the Board of Directors or in the Operating, Ethics and Disciplinary Committees or the Accounts Reviewer.
